About Us

The Tarka Clinic is located in the centre of Barnstaple on Paiges Lane. It was opened by Sir Ranulph Fiennes in 1999 and was set up by Dr Peter Spencer. It has since been taken over by Kelvyn in 2019.

The Tarka Clinic is a dynamic, vibrant practice. Instead of having a number of practitioners working independently of each other, the members of Tarka Clinic work as a team, focusing on different aspects of the person’s life in order to maximise their health potential.

The Tarka Clinic is fully accessible by wheelchair, with a large entrance door, a toilet suitable for disabled persons and a room with a wide door for wheelchair access.

There is ample car parking in the cattle market car park which is only a short distance from the clinic.

Meet The Team

Kelvyn Evans

Owner

Kelvyn is the practice manager and a HCPC registered podiatrist. Kelvyn has been the current manager/owner of the Tarka clinic since January 2019

Julie Huxtable

Manager

Julie joint the clinic in 2021, initially to help the Travel Clinic but now runs the Tarka Clinic also. She has previously worked at another allied health clinic for many years.

Angela Isaac

Receptionist

Angie has been with the Tarka Clinic since 2014. She keeps busy outside of work by looking after her dog and helping her parents.

Carole Charnock

Receptionist

Carole has been with the Tarka Clinic since 2019. She previously worked at the North Devon Hospice. Outside of work Carole enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Paulette Stone

Receptionist

P works largely for the Travel Clinic but is always on hand to help our Tarka clients if needed.

Amanda Page

Receptionist

Mandy is the newest member of the team. She previously worked in a local GP surgery and is now enjoying helping our clients.
