Phil Sheddon - Sports Therapist |
||||
| Phil works
under the professional body "The Society of Sports Therapists" which
monitors and legislates on all matters relating to Sports Therapy. Its
aims are to improve the standard of care and treatment given to sports
people. Phil works on a variety of musculoskeletal injuries from the acute stage, normally non- or partially weight bearing, through to fully weight bearing functional activities. Treatments reduce pain and inflammation and so restore full range of movement. Phil uses a combination of massage, joint manipulation, ultrasound and interferential therapy to achieve his aims, and this blends well with the other treatment modalities available at the Tarka Clinic. |

Phil also
incorporates a rehabilitation programme to strengthen the injured
structures and allow the individual to return to his/her chosen sport and
accept the rotational stress forces that are imposed on them.
Phil frequently refers patients to the osteopaths within the Tarka Clinic, and in return receives patients whose main problem is one of muscular overstrain, whether or not the injury was sustained during sporting activity |
