“Utilising the mind body link to promote health and well being in clients and patients”

What is NLP?

NLP was initially created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the mid 1970’s who began by developing models based on top communicators of the time. Their aim was to discover how certain people produced excellence in communication and then to create models that allowed other people to produce similar results. Their initial studies included the likes of Milton Erickson, Fritz Perls and Virginia Satir; over the succeeding years many other models of excellence have contributed to the growth of this field.

Essentially, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve specific and desired outcomes.

NLP has many and varied applications, with regard to health and healing it offers a powerful set of tools for patient and health practitioner alike to enhance the healing process through the mind body link.

The connection between mind and body is now a proven fact, what affects one affects and impacts on the other. Your emotional well being is directly linked to your physical state, and stress and emotional unbalance has an adverse effect on our immune system. Our health is not just affected by what we eat or exercise but also by how we think and deal with everyday experiences.

An important element of NLP for health professionals is that you can utilise the Mind-Body connection to positively influence and affect people in your care. NLP informs an approach that ensures your communication with patients, relatives and colleagues has an optimal effect on health and well being.

This two day training workshop will demonstrate the power of your communication to help others. The natural caring relationship between patient and carer provides an ideal foundation for utilising many of the NLP patterns to help patients and clients manage injury, pain and healing more effectively.
When used in conjunction with your current skills and practices it can help your patients and clients to feel different, feel better and perceive the world differently making a positive impact and more control over their own health and well-being.

During the workshop you will learn:

• The power of  language to affect thinking and beliefs

• The Neuro-logical levels and their affect on well-being

• The presuppositions of NLP and health

• Managing emotional states and “anchoring”

• The three key channels of communication

• The power of beliefs in health
